lol i love the fire alarm (woo free smoke break... its usually just some dumb ass welding under one of the smoke detectors anyway).... unfortunatly todays issue was just the centralized computer system being down... wich means standing around with yer thumb up your arse as no orders can be made... whilst not being allowed to go outside and smoke unless its your break.... sucks

Fun fact: I’m on the 4th floor with no wheelchair fire escape equipment. When one sounds, I just ignore it.

We had a bona fide bomb scare once. I let myself down the stairs in the stair well one step at a time. I remembered to bring my keys. When I got to the bottom, I said “fuck it” and went home.

At my old office they didn’t have any emergency lighting in the stairwells, so when the power went out it was twelve floors of people with their cell phones out as flashlights. The building is over 40 years old, so I can’t imagine what they would have done before the advent of the smartphone...
